As the title of this blog suggests, I am going a full 360. I’m making a revolutionary turn around not unlike Copernicus. No, maybe it is not this bold, and I’m not changing the way I live my life. That’s not what I’m talking about here, I’m not a motorcycle and ride off into the sunset or something, I’m going to keep living, what I’m changing it the way that I tell my story. I will continue writing, but I’m going to continue to add images to my writing, and a lot of these images maybe 360 photographs and videos. I know what you’re thinking, virtual reality?
I don’t come here to have my mind blown by crazy newfangled Technologies? What are you doing? Now, that’s fair, and I understand your fear of change, as I fear it too. I think it’s very natural to be hesitant to stylistic changes in the things we love. Whether it’s a person, place, or thing. When something changes, we often react out of fear that it won’t be the thing that we have love to. This happens to me all the time, and it was a great dilemma when I was considering purchasing a 360 camera to spice up this blog with a brand-new jolt of life. Now, that I have purchased the camera, and have begun to experiment with it, I see that this is a necessary step for me. Not only doesn’t excite me, but I believe it will excite certain readers who have not tuned into this blog in the past.
Please be patient as I make this change, and do know that the hearts of this blog will stay the exact same as it always has been. I will tell the same kinds of stories, and my perspective on them has not change. What I’m trying to add, not replace anything with, but add, is a new style of Storytelling that can complement what I’m doing with my writing, and that will reach out to a brand new demographic of people who love to understand stories with visceral, intuitive images. That’s all I’m doing. It’s just going to deepen The Experience, not change it in any negative way at all.
